Saying Farewell

The day August 4, 2009, we lay in rest Mrs. Corazon “Cory” Aquino, Philippines First Female President and also Asia’s First Female President. She served the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was survived by her 5 kids, her youngest was none other than the famous actress Kris Aquino.  She married Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. (1932–1983), after the assasination of her husband she bacame the political figure of the Philippines. Cory became the President of the Philippines by the People Power Revolution in 1986. She has influenced so many Political aspect of not just the Philippines but also the political relations between the US and the Philippines. “Aquino’s presidency saw the restoration of democratic institutions in the Philippines, through the enactment of a new constitution which limited the powers of the presidency, restored the bicameral congress, and renewed emphasis on civil liberties. Her administration was likewise hampered by several military coup attempts by disaffected members of the Philippine military which derailed a return to full political stability and economic development.” Cory not only showed political strength but also she also showed what a good mother she can be. She supported her 5 kids through their political career and also through Kris’s entertainment career. I believe that she was the power and the voice of the people in the Philippines.
Now that she is gone, the political influence that she had left behind will be carried throughout history. She was the first Philippine Female President and her lagacy will live on forever, I was lucky enough the be able to see some parts of her political influence while I was growing up, and as I watch her burial happneing in the Philippines, it makes me sad that one the most biggest political figure has past away. Seeing her all the thing that she has accomplished and all the recognition that she has received it makes me glad to be a Filipino.
REST IN PEACE CORY AQUINO!! YOU WILL BE MISSED.
